Folkart Narlıdere, the most luxurious housing project in Turkey, which sits on a 70,000-square-meter area in İzmir’s Narlıdere district was completed in December 2008. In the Project designed by Emre Arolat Architects, topographic situation of the site was interpreted with the search of urban characteristics such as, existing structural pattern, transportation, density and the sociological balances of the region. Located in the historic area of Makryianni, the Museum stands some 300 meters southeast of the Parthenon. The Cursor is a comment on the current politics of representation in Macedonia. It is an intervention on the 66m high Millenium Cross built in 2000 on the mountain Vodno in Skopje. Vodno is situated on the south side of river Vadar which divides the city in two parts: the Macedonian southern part and the Albanian northern part. In the end of May the City Council of Budapest assigned Erick van Egeraat to further develop his plans for the Városháza Forum project in the heart of Budapest. Within international Trimo Urban Crash competition, which awards the most innovative and creative ideas from students of architecture, Trimo this year received 147 projects from 17 countries. The winning solution for a cultural stage is a sculpture-like form, a unity without a defined beginning and end and belongs to two architects from Poland, namely Jan Ledwon and Alicja Chola. MORE…
