Plavo pozorište will represent their performance Dancing with Father on 29th June, theatrical experiment Bizarre Coincidence on 4th July and from July 20 – August 1 realize its international educational program Two Open Weeks.
Plavo pozorište is a theatre laboratory founded in 1995 in Belgrade. Plavo pozorište is a contemporary theatre, we are the group of people who, cherishing a seed of anarchism in ourselves, use theatre as the place which has credibility and in which some serious things about the world that surrounds us could be said.
Apart of realization of performances, Plavo pozorište is involved in organization of educational activities, such as theatre workshops and seminars and organization of international theatre festival Meetings in Belgrade. Performances of Plavo pozorište were presented in Italy, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Slovakia.
From June 15 – 23, Plavo pozorište participated in international theatre festival The World as a Place of Truth, organized by the Grotowski Institute from Wroclaw, on the occasion of 10 years of death of Jerzy Grotowski and 50 years of foundation of his Laboratory Theatre. This big festival has hosted most relevant directors in the world’s theatre, as well as young directors and theatres inspired by the work of Jerzy Grotowski in their work. Plavo pozorište presented its latest performance Dancing with Father, inspired by work of Franz Kafka, which will be performed also on June 29th in INFANT festival in Novi Sad.
Within the frame of international theatre festival Meetings this year Plavo pozorište will host guests from Germany, Theaterlabor Im Tor 6 from Bielefeld. Two theatres will perform their theatrical experiment Bizarre Coincidence, first time performed in October 2008 in Bielefeld, within theatre festival 360°. This experiment will be performed on July 4th in Belgrade, in Centre for Cultural Decontamination.
From July 20 – August 1, Plavo pozorište will realize its international educational program Two Open Weeks. Professional and semiprofessional actors and directors and theatre students are invited to spend two weeks in work with Plavo pozorište. Two Open Weeks of Plavo pozorište is an opportunity to meet with our work through series of events: workshops, meetings, performances, video presentations.
