Block – the collection of poetry by Aggressive Theatre opened the festival of Mlade rime (Young rhymes) at Menza pri Koritu. Aggressive Theatre, the Association for Contemporary Art, is a group of seven young artists who share the idea that art can happen anywhere and at any time and thus can have a great impact on the individual.

They stand for the implementation of unusual practices in the field of arts and for the presentation of high-quality works of the 80’s Art Generation. Their progressive and aggressive work includes the fields of visual arts (theatre, street theatre, performance), visual communications (installations, works of fine arts) and literature (poetry, prose, dramatic pieces, literary evenings).
The group opened the poetry festival addressed Mlade rime (Young rhymes) with their own project called Block–the collection of poetry. The festival took place on Metelkova street on 15.6.09 and is organised by KUD Kentaver. The group will introduce a video of a certain performance which took place in spring and poetry reading in an unusual and innovative way. The group has in the name of the project (Block-the collection of poetry) ”broken” into private quarters of eighteen individuals from randomly chosen block of flats in Ljubljana where they were stigmatised with poetry: their front doors were sealed with poetry and notes were left in their mailboxes.
When all other means of approaching poetry to people in a way that poetry could be interesting for them, break down, it is when the Poetry takes the first step and comes directly to an individual in order for he or she to embrace it. Poetry is not meant for those who understand it. Poetry is meant for pleasure, it is meant to be given unconditionaly and without any demands. We do not need to understand it, we only need to embrace it.
The group, which also set two art installation on the island of Goli Otok in Croatia previous year (in 1949 the entire island was officially transformed into a high-security, top secret prison and labour camp; it was shut down in 1988), is already preparing new projects. Two projects are going to be introduced in june: Poezija v zebri (Poetry in a zebra, author Marko Kumer – Murč, who is currently preparing the setting for poetry installation in Stockholm –Sweden) and Pilgrimage of poetry (Ivana Komel). A poetry installation called Eno kepico poezije, prosim (One scoop of poetry, please – author Glorjana Veber) is going to take place at a square of Prešeren as a part of international festival Ana Desetnica from 5 pm to 8 pm on the 02.07.09. Another project called Rastoča poezija (Groving poetry – author Marko Kumer –Murč) will also take place in the same month. The group will also prepare a project Recesijska poezija (Recession poetry – authors Glorjana Veber, Andrej Grilc) and Rožna bere (Rožna reads – authors Anjuša Belehar, Andrej Grilc, Glorjana Veber) in the following months. The group is going abroad in the autumn to introduce their works in France, Czech Republik and Croatia.
Aggressive Theatre has opened the new field of presenting art, where the individual has at any time the choice between ignorance and experimentation and is also aware of always being on the open playground, entering the unknown area.
