Trimo organized the international Trimo Architectural Awards  for the fourth time and has this year received projects from 14 countries. They announced awards last week for the best national and international architectural solutions using Trimo products in a creative, daring, different and new way.

Awards for Complete Architectural Solution were given to:
Slavojka Akrapovič, Robert Zakrajšek, Damjan Holc

Industrial buildings rarely receive as much love as in the projects by Slavojka Akrapovič and her colleagues. Nothing is left to coincidence and nothing is unworthy of making an effort. It has a sophisticated exterior and – what is rarely the case in such buildings – a polished interior. It combines a play of colours, light, and shadow with an emphasis on people and function.

The large proportions of the building, its location in the open landscape and its close proximity to the village, demand that it must be architecturally sympathetic. Construction is separated into various buildings in different levels covered with plain steel panels as the material throughout.
To visually minimize the three high halls, the façade is covered with panel plates in two light colours. The panels are applied in a chaotic pattern and the light and sleek panels have been chosen because of their ability to reflect and mirror the colours of the surrounding nature and the daily rhythm.

This military plane’s factory is located in Seville and is part of the investments of the European consortium aerospace EADS. This factory hosts the biggest military plane’s manufacture in Europe. When a sales perfection meets architectural art the Mediterranean light only serves as the cherry on top. This is an example of a “light” management of complexity.
