63.02°, by Schemata Architecture
Tokyo-based Schemata Architecture’s 63.02° is built in a densely residential area in Nakano, Tokyo, a small building consisting of a SOHO (small office/home office) and a rental apartment with total floor space of just 71m2. The road facing onto which it is built is extremely narrow, but the apartment block next door enjoys a large open space between the road and the building.
In order accomodate this situation, the facade of 63.02° is inclined 63.02 degrees toward the facing road, so that a view which is both wide and deep is achieved. The large windows that open outward from inside the inclined facade affords a peaceful view onto the neighbouring cherry tree and the cityscape beyond.
