Soft South African Touch
Johannesburg-based Ronel Jordaan, a South African textile designer active almost 30 years now, sees inspiration in nature, and uses felt to express her colourful imagination.
She’s not only talented but socially conscious as well, setting up a women’s workshop in Gauteng- Johannesburg-where personally trained artisans weave interlocking fibers made from 100% merino wool – hand-dyed and hand-carded – into oversized “stone” floor cushions. The women produce the designs together with her and have now begun fashioning their own designs with her help.

Soft yet firm, the smooth textured cushions can be arranged to support seat and back. Occasionnally she combines her felts with other natural fibres such as cotton or silk. And they’re even hand washable in luke-warm water.
Available in creams, browns, greys, and charcoal; small: 35cm x 30cm x 18cm; medium: 50cm x 48cm x 25cm; and large: 65cm x 65cm x 35cm.

Hahah , I love it pillows that mimic rocks , and their designs are so realistic in fact when I first saw them I thought ” Huh!!? rocks ” and as I read the article I discovered they are pillows ( or a least I hope they are )
Another excellent gift to buy for Christmas , its unique and funny that can draw a smile from the recepient.
