Naughty Embroidered Tops by Nicole Locher
Swiss designer Nicole Locher opened her boutique in Paris back in 2001, taking inspiration from flea markets in Paris and London. She combines elements of vintage and contemporary fashion into a single concept, creating a playful, unique style.
Locher employs fine embroidery typical of traditional handwork, of a style and quality she feels has disappeared.
Her clothes bring back this element of refinement in her embroidery style; but to make it contemporary and achieve a kind of edgy balance she adds another playful element to the mix – dirty sayings embroidered into every shirt, like Petite Salope (Little Slut) and Sans Culotte (No Panties). You get the idea.
