GLOW Audio Tube Amplifiers and Loudspeakers

GLOW makes high-end sounding, artfully designed tube amplifiers and audio gear, and their products are even moderately priced. The company’s first stereo tube amplifier is even computer-ready, with USB and integrated DAC.

By eliminating what they call unnecessary extras minimizes the amount of circuitry impacting the signal. The result is a pure, realistic sound ensuring the full detail, resolution and dynamics of the performance are properly and faithfully reproduced.

GLOW powers their loudspeakers with hand-built tube amplifiers made with the highest quality components.  All amplifier transformers are hand wound and circuits are assembled using the point-to-point wiring method.

Their speakers are small, and their stereo tube amplifier is the size of a shoe box with a fraction of the power of the typical transistor component. But the GLOW sound is big, lush and full, unlike conventional solid-state components.

GLOW products use quality materials, with more steel, less  plastic and no simulated wood-grain-vinyl-covered speaker cabinets. As small as it is, the GLOW Amp One stereo tube amplifier weighs in at almost 7kg.  And GLOW products are intentionally compact, to complement decor without dominating living environments.

With energy conservation in mind, their tube amplifiers consume less energy than a standard 40 watt light bulb; GLOW doesn’t make “disposable” consumer products but is  designed to last for many years. Speaker cones are made from bamboo fiber, a renewable resource, and enclosures are made of recycled scrap wood and bamboo.

This autumn, the company plans to introduce a subwoofer, the GLOW Sub One, which is roughly 20cm square. To avoid the bass “thud” so typical of subwoofers in its price range, they utilize a passive radiator along with the 6.5″ bass driver.
